Drexel Heights is a town in Pima County, Arizona. With just 23,849 residents during the 2010 census, the town is a small one compared to the other bigger places in Pima County. Records show that the name comes from a prominent and wealthy family in the area. Drexel Heights has a total area of 19.45 square miles and an elevation of 2,526 feet. Its median household income is $45,617 and its median property value is $107,800.
Although the town is small and simple when it comes to local entertainment, and shopping centers, it has the good fortune of being located in Pima County, the second most populous county in all of Arizona. The county seat is Tucson, which has a lot of worthwhile attractions to see.
One of the most famous attractions in the region is the desert museum on 2021 N. Kinney Road in Tucson. The museum was established in 1982 and has over 97 acres of indoor and outdoor space that include an aquarium, a zoo, a botanical garden, and a gallery among others. The desert museum is 85 percent outdoors so that visitors will be able to see wild animals and flowers in their natural habitats, as well as experience the beauty of the desert terrain in Arizona.
Inside the museum, there are two miles of walking paths, 1,200 native plant species and 56,000 plants all in all, as well as 16 unique gardens. As for the animal wildlife, there are over 230 native mammals, reptiles, insects, amphibians, and birds.
