Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Casas Adobes, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Casas Adobes is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Casas Adobes, AZ Tidbits

Casas Adobes is a city in Arizona and its name means "Adobe Houses" in Spanish. It was taken from the name of a subdivision in the area. At the 2010 census, Casas Adobes was reported to have around 66,795 residents, which wasn't bad for a small unincorporated city located within the metropolitan area of Tucson, Arizona. There are still no definite plans for Casas Adobes' incorporation, but the city is actually older than its neighbors, Oro Valley and Marana.

The city is a suburban community and is known more for its upscale shopping center, the Casas Adobes plaza, its botanical park, and one major hospital. The city was created in the 1940s and is relatively young compared to other cities in Arizona that were founded in the 19th century. The city was named after a nearby residential area, also called Casas Adobes because of the adobe houses, built by a family from Chicago. Many of the large, ranch-style homes built in the subdivision were made of adobe bricks.

Before American settlers from other states settled in the area and created the Casas Adobes community that would later blossom into the Arizona city it is known today, the area was inhabited by early cattle ranchers. They settled in the area since it was near the Canada del Oro and the Rillito River.

Because of the abundance of natural resources for food and water, cattle ranching flourished in this area and stayed relatively isolated from the rest of the region until the 1920s when the community of Tucson grew and paved better roads to the rest of the region. Many people found Casas Adobes and decided to settle in the area, eventually building the subdivision that would give the city its name.

The first person to build a home in the city, though, had originally relocated to Tucson. This person bought 1,500 acres from one of the early cattle ranchers. This ranch became an orchard for dates and citrus fruits. In fact, this was the start of the community's fruit industry that would later extend to Tucson and become its major business through the years.

Over 200 acres of land were designated for the fruit trees, but the rest of ranch land was sold to people who wanted to move into town. Eventually, the entire ranch land was sold in the 1950s. Now, several real estate companies oversee the acres of land for residential construction.

It was in the later part of the 1940s that the Casas Adobes subdivision was established along Oracle Road. There were three residential subdivisions built on a purchased 300 acres of land. This became the center of the Casas Adobes community and is considered one of Tucson's first suburbs. The Casas Adobes plaza, a historic and commercial landmark, was constructed. After a few years, an internationally known resort and a multi-million-dollar residential development estate were also built.

The Casas Adobes has upscale shopping centers in the plaza, which was built using adobe or mud bricks. The plaza mimics the style of the town center and markets of the first settlers' hometown. The plaza is home to many boutiques, restaurants, and various shops. Because of the upscale stores, beautiful scenery, and exotic design, the Casas Adobes Plaza is one of the most popular destinations in the northwest region. It is home to several luxury spas, beauty salons, and even ice cream parlors.

The plaza is already around 63 years old, having been built in 1954. Often, the Casas Adobes plaza has been compared to the first shopping complex at Tucson, Arizona and was also designed by the same architect. The two plazas also resemble each other when it comes to beautiful fountains at the center of the town and shaded arcades along the streets. Although much of the original design has been preserved, new renovations are replacing the Spanish tiles and the pavers with concrete slabs.
