Read on to learn more about our casper mattress review

When shopping for a new mattress, many people wind up comparing Casper® reviews with those for Amerisleep — two of today’s leading mattress brands.

In this guide, we compare Amerisleep and Casper, reviewing them across more than a dozen attributes. Our only goal is to help you make the best, most informed decision possible about buying a new mattress — even if you don’t get one from us. We also provide comparisons to other popular companies TempurPedic® and Purple.

We did our best to pick the categories we think are most important to consumers, based on what independent, third-party research says consumers care about. And we tried not to skew the comparison by only picking attributes that make us look good (but we can’t help it if we look good anyway).

For example, when asked about the importance of various comfort features, respondents listed targeted back support (81%), no sinking (73%), and stays cool (60%) as some of their top concerns.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. You be the judge. As you read through the categories we chose for these Amerisleep and Casper reviews, ask yourself if you think we left any major areas off our list.

Our only goal is to help you make the best, most informed decision possible about buying a new mattress — even if you don’t get one from us.

Amerisleep & Casper: Mattresses

Let’s start our comparison by looking at competing mattresses from each company.

Here, we focus on Casper’s “The Casper” model compared to the Amerisleep AS2. These are the least expensive mattresses from each company that include targeted pressure relief for sensitive areas, like the lower back, which 81% of consumers said was an important feature to them when choosing a mattress.

and more restful sleep, giving consumers an extra two inches of cushion, and using a clinically tested2 system to provide more targeted support zones for sensitive areas.

When it comes to similarities, both companies use carefully engineered memory foam that is more responsive, so you don’t feel stuck when you change positions, and breathable, so you stay cool while you sleep. Casper’s only advantage is that its queen-size Casper mattress is roughly $100 less expensive than a queen-size AS2.

Amerisleep & Casper: Mattress Materials

Both Casper and Amerisleep use high-end memory foam in their beds. When memory foam mattresses started to gain popularity in the 90s, two of the most common complaints were that the foam traps heat and holds its shape for too long, so you feel stuck if you try to change positions.

Over the two decades since, new and more innovative ways to create memory foam have been invented. Just like today we carry more computing power in our pocket than the first astronauts used to go to the moon, memory foam has also gone through a period of rapid improvement.

Today’s advanced foams are less dense, so they allow more air to pass through and wick away heat. They are also more responsive, so they move with you throughout the night instead of making you feel trapped.

In addition to using higher quality foams, Amerisleep and Casper both offer targeted pressure relief in sensitive areas like the lower back and shoulders. But Casper’s targeted support layer only provides three zones of support, while Amerisleep’s HIVE® Technology (Harnessing

In addition to using higher quality foams, Amerisleep and Casper both offer targeted pressure relief in sensitive areas like the lower back and shoulders. But Casper’s targeted support layer only provides three zones of support, while Amerisleep’s HIVE® Technology (Harnessing Intelligent Ventilation & Energy) is even more precise with five zones of support.

Intelligent Ventilation & Energy) is even more precise with five zones of support.

HIVE® has also been clinically tested to reduce pressure points by up to 49%2. As of this publication, Casper has not cited any studies of their system on their website.

Amerisleep has added even more cutting-edge materials to the construction of our mattresses that Casper doesn’t currently offer. For instance, Amerisleep covers its mattresses with Celliant® fabric.

Celliant® is certified by the FDA1 to increase comfort and promote restful sleep. Celliant® works by safely converting body heat to infrared energy, temporarily increasing local blood flow and creating a number of helpful benefits.

Better circulation helps your body regulate its temperature. That means Celliant® is another way Amerisleep mattresses prevent overheating. Increased blood flow also helps deliver more nutrients throughout your body, so you recover faster and wake up more energized.

Based on the comparisons above, we believe the Amerisleep AS2 provides deeper sleep and better performance than The Casper, for roughly the same price.

Amerisleep & Casper Review: Customer Satisfaction

Both Amerisleep and Casper reviews show high ratings for customer satisfaction. The average memory foam mattress receives a customer satisfaction score of approximately 80%, according to SleepLikeTheDead.com.

Amerisleep and Casper reviews both outperform the average by more than 10%. But in direct comparison, Amerisleep has a 7% higher Customer Satisfaction score on its website compared to Casper’s reviews on its site.

Based on the Casper reviews we found4, 92% of their customers give them three or more stars out of five. By comparison, 99% of Amerisleep customers give us three or more stars3 out of five in third-party verified reviews.

Just look at what one of our happy customers, Jason from Virginia, said after switching from Casper to the Amerisleep AS3 (formerly called the Liberty Bed) in this review, which is verified and unaltered by PowerReviews.

Amerisleep and Casper excel at customer satisfaction

I've owned this mattress for a year

"When I get off from work, come home, shower, and plop into the Amerisleep Liberty, it's like falling into a cloud. This bed is too comfy for it's own good. Jk, but seriously. So I was shopping for mattress a year ago. I originally bought a Casper. It was okay but I didn't really like it (returned that bad boy). I was deciding between the AS3 and Tuft & Needle, Leesa, some other online brands. Basically I had been to the mattress store and felt consistently like I was being harassed. Why should buying a mattress be so stressful? I found Amerisleep randomly through a review site. They seemed much more knowledgeable than the others. I picked the Liberty(AS3) in a queen and I'm in love. This mattress is amazing. The only issue I've noticed is sometimes the mattress (particularly in the summer when it's already super hot) can get a bit warm. But the warmth eventually dissipates somehow and you're already dead asleep. Honestly thank you Amerisleep for creating a cloud that can sit in my room and not make the floor wet. You guys are exceptional. Cheers!"

Amerisleep & Casper: Customer Protection

Both Amerisleep and Casper offer in-home trials where you can test their mattresses for 100 nights, risk-free. If you’re not satisfied for any reason, you can get a full refund.

Both companies will also arrange to have your returned mattress removed. And Amerisleep will do our best to make sure that your mattress gets recycled, too.

Once the 100-night trials end, both Amerisleep and Casper offer warranty protection. The warranty on Amerisleep mattresses covers you for twice as long compared to Casper — two whole decades instead of just 10 years. Both companies offer a full replacement for 10 years, and then Amerisleep provides an additional 10 years of prorated coverage.

The Amerisleep warranty also kicks in sooner compared to Casper. We cover you for sagging once it reaches 0.75 inches, while Casper doesn’t cover you until you reach a full inch.

Amerisleep & Casper Review: Business Model and History

Both Casper and Amerisleep sell directly to their customers without using distributors and other middlemen. This allows both companies to offer a better value to consumers. When you buy a mattress from a traditional retailer, they often double the price (or more!) to make their own profit.

By selling directly to customers, Amerisleep and Casper can cut out the middleman and pass along those savings to you.

Now that brands can sell directly to their customers online, top-of-the-line mattresses have become more affordable for everyday buyers. Amerisleep and its founders have been pioneers in the sleep industry for nearly 12 years, since 2006. That’s more than twice as long as Casper, which wasn’t founded until 2013.

Amerisleep & Casper Review: Sustainability

The last way we’re going to compare Casper and Amerisleep is on sustainability. Corporate social responsibility and the environment are a concern for many consumers, and people want to know that the products they buy aren’t harming the planet.

Amerisleep and Casper are CertiPUR-US certified

Both Casper and Amerisleep are certified eco-friendly by CertiPUR-US®. But Amerisleep goes even further in our commitment to sustainability.

When we produce our foam, we replace as much petroleum (crude oil) as we can with plant-based castor oil instead. Using renewable plants instead of a fossil fuel is better for the environment. Casper doesn’t mention using plant-based foam anywhere we could see on its site.

Amerisleep also uses a patented process for making foam that produces virtually zero emissions5, called Variable Pressure Foaming (VPF). It’s the only method for making foam that exceeds the standards of the Federal Clean Air Act5.

It's Time to Decide

Now that you’ve seen how Casper and Amerisleep compare, it’s time for you to decide where to get your new mattress. Like we said in the introduction, our goal here was to give you an objective comparison and let you make your own decision.

The most important thing to us is that you find the best sleep you’re looking for. Poor sleep quality can cause too many problems for you to just let it continue.

Without a good night’s sleep, most people lose the focus they need to excel at work. At home, sleep deprivation can cause you to feel sluggish, low energy, and disengaged when you’re with your family. And poor sleep quality can compromise your physical well-being, too.

If you want to be at your best every day, then you have to consistently get the deep, healing sleep you need to recharge every night and wake up refreshed every morning.

So you have a choice. You can decide to do nothing, continue suffering through poor sleep quality, and accept how draining it is on you each day. Or you can decide to upgrade your mattress to start getting deeper, more restful sleep, and discover how much your quality of life improves with it.

The choice is yours. And if you choose Amerisleep, you can shop our five mattress firmness levels now.

If you want to be at your best every day, then you have to consistently get the deep, healing sleep you need to recharge every night and wake up refreshed every morning.
