Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Simi Valley, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Simi Valley is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Simi Valley, CA Tidbits
The city of Simi Valley is located at the southeast corner of Ventura County, California and it holds a population of 125, 814 people. Located just right beside Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, and Moorpark, the city is enveloped by the Santa Susana Mountain Range and the Simi Hills.
Like the Thousand Oaks and Oxnard, Simi Valley was once inhabited by the Chumash people around 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. These tribes then began gathering and collecting acorns and local marshland plants. Later on, hunting and fishing became a local trade among the Chumash people until a system was created with precious stones as a form of monetary value. The Chumash people used an internal dialect they called "Ventureno".
Simi Valley got its name from the Chumash word, "Shimiyi" which refers to a thread-like cloud that surrounds the region. Strands of mist and fog move around the Oxnard Plain as it makes its way around the valley. The Native American word "Simji" meant little white wind clouds that could be fairly visible to the ethnic tribes who used to live in the area.
After the Chumash civilization, the Europeans came to Simi Valley through the Spanish expedition around the 1760s. The Rancho Simi, which still stands today, was 110,000 acres of land from a grant given by the Spanish government.
Since then, the ranch land was used to raise cattle until it was sold to a petroleum company. However, only a minimal volume of oil could be extracted from the land, so the area began to turn to farming again and the community continued to flourish. For a while, the valley was known as "Simiopolis" but it was soon shortened to just "Simi" by the early 1900s. Simi Valley is now surrounded by tall, green mountains, with over 50 hiking trails.
One famous attraction in Simi Valley is the library and museum building that houses volumes of books. There are several pavilions that house many displays, one of which is the Flying White House aircraft. It was once used by several former presidents of the country and has covered over 660,000 miles across 26 foreign countries and 46 states in America.
The library also has a replica of the Oval Office. The desk at the president's workspace was made from the wood scraps of an abandoned British-owned ship called the H.M.S. Resolute. The desk was commissioned in 1880. Since then, former presidents have used the "Resolute Desk" upon succeeding the position. The library also has several interactive exhibits. There are 18 galleries dedicated to the history of the country.
The city of Simi Valley is considered one of the best cities to live in the country. According to a research done by the University of Vermont, the city is the fifth happiest one in the entire country. It is also the seventh safest city in the entire United States of America. During the 2012 report, the city had a household income of $87,894, which is higher than the average of state and the country. Simi Valley is also located close to several colleges like Moorpark College, Cal State Northridge, University of La Verne, University of Southern California, and more.
