Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Pico Rivera, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Pico Rivera is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Pico Rivera, CA Tidbits
The city of Pico Rivera, California traces its origins to the 1870s when prominent railroads established tracks in an unnamed area back then. New residents rode the train and found themselves in a new and rarely explored area that was conducive for farming. There, they planted and harvested avocado, citrus fruits, and walnut trees. They established groves and farm lands between the San Gabriel and Rio Hondo Rivers. Because of this, two communities flourished in the area, Pico and Rivera.
These two agricultural towns grew side by side until the 1950s when more people came to the area around the San Gabriel Valley. The increase in the number of settlers required more housing developments. This drew the residents of Pico and Rivera closer. Both towns were worried about the possibility of being annexed by larger cities, so they decided to merge and get incorporated as one community.
In 1958, the two towns were incorporated as one city called "Pico Rivera". It was the 61st city in the Los Angeles County to be officially established. It is located just 11 miles from the city of Los Angeles and is also considered one of the Gateway Cities. During the 2010 census, the city had 62,942 residents. In 2016, the number increased to 63,635 locals living within the city's 8.88 square miles of land, which is bordered by the natural plains and valleys of southern California.
Throughout the city, residents can be seen enjoying the facilities and amenities of over nine parks and playgrounds. Other establishments for public use include four community centers, two gyms, a swimming pool, 18 fields for sports games and inter-school athletic competitions, a golf course, and a skate park. Pico Rivera residents also find it easy to visit attractions and establishments in nearby cities since it is bordered by Santa Fe Springs, Whittier, Montebello, Downey, Commerce, and Industry. The presence of the San Gabriel River Freeway also makes it easier for locals to visit neighboring cities.
Pico Rivera's school children study at institutions served by the El Rancho and Montebello Unified School Districts, although there is a private K-12 school for students. Those who want to achieve higher education study at colleges located in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Many of the city's services are also handled by the Los Angeles County, including the fire department and law enforcement. Throughout the years, the city was able to annex unincorporated towns, and this contributed to Pico Rivera's growth in terms of land area and population.
The city is also surrounded by a green natural landscape since it is located in the San Gabriel Valley, which is home to the San Gabriel Mountains, the San Rafael Hills, Puente Hills, Chino Hills, and San Gabriel River, among others. This area was largely inhabited by the Native American group, the Tongva. The first European explorers were from Portugal and they arrived in this part of California during the early 1540s. Currently, the city of Pico Rivera is a diverse community with residents who have Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Armenian heritage.
