Tucson Estates is a small community in Arizona. Records show that its population during the 2000 census was only 9,775. It has grown exponentially over the decades, but it's still a small town compared to Tucson itself. The community is made up of several housing developments and other smaller housing subdivisions. Even though it's small, its residents don't lack sources of entertainment, historical education, and natural recreational centers.

Just a few miles away from Tucson Estates is an old film studio at 201 South Kinney Road. It's close to a local mountain range and national park. The Old West set at the studio was built in 1939 for a movie. Since then, it has been used by different films and TV series that feature the Old West era. The studio was opened to the public in 1960. It features different rooms and live shows like stunt choreography.

Right next to the old studio is the national park named after the saguaro cactus species that sprout all over the desert. At the park, people camp, hike, and go on wildlife tours to see the beauty of the place. There are six campsites in the park. Some have cabins while some only allow tents.

There are around 165 miles of hiking trails that visitors can use in the national park. It starts with 3,000 feet elevation and goes up to around 9,000 as hikers explore the canyons and trails. The perfect backpacking adventure can be done in the park's wilderness area, which consists of 57,930 acres in the mountain district.

The city has a lot of desert scrubs, local cacti species, and grassland from just 3,000 to 5,000 feet. The oak woodland area is at 5,000 to 6,000 feet. At 7,000 feet is the pine-oak woodland part. Then, at 8,000 feet to 9,000, there area is covered with a forest of pine and conifer trees.

There are also mountains near Tucson Estates. On its western side is a desert museum, which is considered a 97-acre natural history museum with a zoo and botanical gardens. It was first established in 1952 as a way to preserve the natural landscape and wildlife of the region. It was started by the founder of another museum in New York.

What makes this museum unique, though, is that most of its galleries and exhibits are outside. Instead of glass displays of dead animals, there are birds of prey and animals in the wildlife roaming around in their habitats. Visitors can see them from a safe distance and then can traverse the many different hiking trails in another part of the museum.

Because of its amazing design, a famous travel website ranked the museum in the 9th place among all museums in the entire country in 2014. A year before that, it was named the 5th best public garden in the country. Another website also included the museum's desert loop trail in its ten best zoo exhibits in 2015.

More than 400,000 visitors drop by the museum, and some of them are school children. For those who want more adventure, the museum has an earth sciences center where there is a recreated underground cave with stalagmites and stalactites. The center also houses one of the largest collections of minerals in the entire world.
