Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in El Mirage, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in El Mirage is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.
El Mirage, AZ Tidbits
The city of El Mirage in Arizona is a town with a huge population of Hispanic and Latino residents. Many of the early workers and residents at this city were from Mexico, so it's not surprising that El Mirage has a strong Latin American heritage. The city was incorporated in 1951, having begun its life as an agricultural community. The city sometimes serves as a bedroom suburb for the nearby Phoenix areas and it also attracts many young families and retirees who are looking for a beautiful residential community that's separate from the hustle and bustle of big cities.
The earliest inhabitants of El Mirage City were an ancient indigenous group of people who had lived around the Arizona region thousands of years ago. According to research, these people came from Mexico and had settled around the Mexican border and south Arizona from time to time in the past. They were well-known for their advanced irrigation system, so much so that they are nicknamed "Canal Builders". Years after, many towns people retrenched their canals and used them to irrigate their farms.
Many migrant workers from Mexico came to this part in Arizona to help build the canals and work on farms during the early 1930s. The Mexicans started their own farms and harvested the crops. Soon, they began to form a town and called it "El Mirage". It is now a rapidly growing town, with 31,767 residents during the 2010 census. The city is in Maricopa County and is surrounded by many recreational centers, natural parks, sports complexes, and historic landscapes.
The El Mirage dry lake is a recreation area that is made primarily of 24,000 acres of dry lake bed where people now go to for some vehicular entertainment. It was formerly open to any visitor who came upon it and the dry lake bed was used for many things, from camping to speed racing. Now, the dry lake is a popular spot for filming car commercials. The site was once used for speed run tests.
The El Mirage community is also home to one of the biggest sports complexes in the entire area. One another impressive structure in El Mirage is located in a stadium that has a baseball diamond field and several amenities. There are so many other sports-themed activities all over El Mirage and Maricopa County where the city is situated.
Also, one of the first eco-museums in the United States can be found in this county. It spans 372,000 acres of land where an indigenous tribe lives. Since their primary livelihood is farming, the museum strives to show the crops that they grow and the features of their new culture.
The median home value in El Mirage is $108,300, which is just a little bit lower than the national average. More people own houses than apartments. There are also more families that plan to stay in El Mirage till retirement than singles or couples renting apartments. The number of young professionals owning houses and living in the area has grown dramatically over the years. El Mirage has been ranked the city as 5th best suburb for millennials in Arizona, 9th best suburb to buy a house in Arizona, and the 9th most diverse suburb in Arizona, according to an online publication.
