Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Peoria, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Peoria is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Peoria, AZ Tidbits

Currently holding the title for the sixth largest city in terms of land area in Arizona, Peoria is mostly located in Maricopa County while a portion belongs in the Yavapai County. This ninth largest city in population was named after Peoria in Illinois. The name comes from the Illini word which means "prairie fire."

The place was first inhabited by the founder of Glendale, Arizona, and the first team of settlers recruited from Illinois. In November 1886, the first group of residents settled in Peoria. Before the city grew into a vibrant and throbbing metropolitan area it is now, there was only one route in the area until a new road was made in 1887.

The new settlers then plotted the development of Peoria with the Maricopa County recorder on May 24, 1897. With its first residents and a newly recorded spot in the map, Peoria officially came to be. Peoria's map was submitted to the county recorder in 1897. Then, in 1888, a post office bearing the name "Peoria" was established in a town with 27 people.

Lake Pleasant is indeed the most ideal place in Glendale for water sports and activities. With a variety of stuff to do like kayaking, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, and boat riding, there are endless options of things to do in this vast lake. Many people frequent the nearest marinas and harbors at the park surrounding the lake.

Peoria is not just well-known among outdoor enthusiasts. The city is famous for its learning centers and prominent establishments, like the life-sized satellite model that is ten feet tall. Aside from that, museums in town also house a collection of other space mission autographed memorabilia from real astronauts. The space center also offers interactive classes for school field trips.

One of the most popular things people do in Peoria, Arizona is stargazing. Before the event starts, the center presents an interactive slide presentation of planets, constellations, including the different folklore about these heavenly bodies. The attendees are given the opportunity to check the twinkling stars through several high-powered lenses and telescopes.

Peoria also has a skating rink, a bowling alley, and a sports complex with a stadium that is home to several athletic teams. The complex has a baseball diamond and 12 practice fields. Peoria also has a rock-climbing gym where interested climbers can scale walls for up to 32 feet.

In 1910, Peoria only had 300 residents. This increased, by 690.3 percent in 1920 when the city had 2,371 people. In 2000, the number of people living in Peoria was already 108,364. This figure increased again after ten years. During the 2010 census, the city had 154,065 residents. The most recent survey, in 2016, revealed that the number increased by 6.6 percent, with Peoria being home to 164,173 people.

The city has a water area of 3.42 square miles and land area of 175.68 square miles. It has an elevation of 1,142 feet. Some of its land growth is attributed to its annexation of over 170 square miles in two counties. This makes Peoria the largest incorporated city in Yavapai County.
