Unlike the simple rural life of the neighboring towns in Maricopa County, Paradise Valley is one of the relatively wealthy towns in Arizona. It has a median household income of $151,184, which is higher than the value in the country. This was a huge increase in 2015 from the city's value in 2014, which was $134,097. It has 5,258 households and a median property value of $1.23 million.
Owning a small portion of land, this town has eight resorts and is home to expensive real estate properties. Paradise Valley is oftentimes confused with Paradise Valley Village, a municipal designation in the north-eastern part of Phoenix.
In the 1880s, when the United States of America just had its first taste of European settlements, Paradise Valley was mostly used for grazing cattle. The land was surveyed as a potential agricultural lot and the name came from the surveyors from a canal company.
In 1889, the company sent three surveyors to the landscape. According to historians, they were captivated by its beauty and grandeur. They named it "Paradise Valley" because of the abundance of spring flowers and palo verde trees, they definitely named it right.
Settlements in the valley, however, only began years after the 1940s. The rural area had a few residents and very few commercial bodies. In the 1950s, the rural lands gave way to a more urban lifestyle as Phoenix and Scottsdale, neighboring towns, expanded their boundaries. Soon enough, there were residential subdivisions, concrete roads, shopping centers, and zoning laws.
The locals were very much concerned about these new abrupt changes in their areas that a group was formed. This society was created to help incorporate the town of Paradise Valley, Arizona. Their goal was to restrict the zoning to a one house per acre minimum, and to keep the area residential.
In April 1961, the committee presented their petition to the Maricopa County board of supervisors, and a month later, the incorporation was granted. The town of Paradise Valley was officially established. They had the groundbreaking ceremony for the town hall in 1973.
Lying in the heart of the Scottsdale-Phoenix area, Paradise Valley offers a multitude of things to do. One of the best views in Paradise Valley is its grand mountain, which got its current name during the 1940s.
One of the best hiking destinations in the country is located near Paradise Valley. The mountain range belongs to a canyon recreation area within the bounds of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Paradise Valley. You can find different plants and flowers in the area. There are two existing hiking trailers. The first one is on a canyon. This trail is intense and difficult, with large rocks and a steep inclines. The second trail has the same level of intensity but it is less steep than the first one, although it is longer.

The place is popular among visitors who want to taste the southwestern cuisine and the culture displayed in the downtown district.
