Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Litchfield Park, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Litchfield Park is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.
Litchfield Park, AZ Tidbits
Litchfield Park is a small town in Maricopa County and was reported to have only 5,476 residents at the 2010 census. Despite its small population, Litchfield Park has a colorful and interesting history and is considered an important part of the state's history. The town is named after the president and chairman of the board of directors of a famous tire and rubber company.
He went to the Phoenix area to find and purchase fertile lands that would grow cotton for the company's pneumatic tires, which were his innovation. While there were many farmers in the area, not many of them wanted to grow cotton for the company. So, he persuaded the tire company to start a cotton corporation that would oversee the company's very own cotton farms. Around 36,000 acres of purchased land was used for the cotton farms, and 5,000 acres of that area was then dedicated to a ranch, where migrant workers cultivate cotton and grew fruit trees. That ranch eventually became known as Litchfield Park after a post office agreed to use that name in 1962.
Litchfield Park is home to many historic buildings and aesthetically pleasing structures like an old ranch resort that had three large pools, a golf course, a spa, and many other facilities. Before Paul Litchfield came to the area in 1916, there were already other settlers on the land and they had decided to use Arizona's desert terrain to boost the tourism in the area.
In 1910, a family from California laid claim to 640 acres of the land. The family had planned to develop the land into a farm for citrus, but they later on abandoned the plan. The tire company's president relocated his family to this area and built a homestead and ranch. A house at the center of the ranch was built for the company employees and visiting executives. Eventually, it expanded and became the site for a now famous resort.
In 1964, the company decided to expand the area to fulfill a plan that would make Litchfield Park a host for 90,000 residents. The original plan for the land involved 25,000 homes, a college, a junior college, 18 elementary schools, 10 junior high schools, and 6 high schools. The urban development plan also included renovations of the town's golf course and harness track, with a total budget of 750 million dollars.
Now, Litchfield's elementary school district and the union high school district of Agua Fria both serve the town's educational needs. The two original elementary schools of the town were built in 1917 on the same grounds where the present elementary school is now located. Although the town doesn't have the big buildings that its founders first envisioned, it still remains a warm residential community that has lots of fun celebrating events.
There are a lot of parks in Litchfield Park. Many of them are recreational areas that offer ball fields with dugouts and soccer fields, as well as picnic tables, water fountains, restrooms, and a playground area with slides and swings. There are also several lakes around the city.
