Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Catalina Foothills, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Catalina Foothills is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Catalina Foothills, AZ Tidbits

Known as the Beverly Hills of Arizona, Catalina Foothills is home to many upscale and posh restaurants, residential structures, and expensive resorts. It sits at the foot of the Santa Catalina Mountains and was reported to have a population of 50,796 at the 2010 census.

Since the city caters to the more affluent kind of resident, Catalina Foothills is considered to have the 6th highest per capita income in the entire state of Arizona, and the 14th highest per capita income in the entire United States. The community is home to prestigious resorts, spas, golf courses, and the most beautiful buildings and tourist attractions.

In the early days, before the city was founded, the area was used for cattle grazing since it was a federal trust land. That changed in the 1920s when a community started at the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains near River Road. The original plan was to make ten residential subdivisions that would focus on privacy and preservation of the terrain and vegetation of the area.

Initially, Catalina Foothills was to be a low-density residential community. With 7,000 acres of land that was purchased in 1928, the new community began construction. During the 1930s, the design of the houses started.

The city was named after the Santa Catalina Mountains, which are commonly only called the "Catalina Mountains" or "Catalinas". It's the most prominent mountain in the Tucson region and is considered the one with the highest average elevation. Much of the research on the mountain's vegetation and wild plants started with a traveler who climbed the mountains on horseback in July 1908.

The mountain range has eight grassy regions: the subalpine forest, the montane fir forest, the pine forest, pine oak forest, pine oak woodland, the desert greenland, and the Sonoran desert scrub. All of these regions sport many different species of plants and trees.

After the Catalina Foothills community was established, many people from the north and other nearby regions flocked to the area because of the warm climate and the terrain. Many were also in awe of the newly designed homes. In 1931, just a little after the town was officially established, the residents organized the community's first school district to serve the needs of the town's children.

The district's first school was then built on the land that was purchased from the city's first settler. The school was located near the East River Road and North Campbell Avenue. Until today, the building still stands and serves as the main office of the community's school district administration.

Although Catalina Foothills is a quiet residential community, it offers many outdoor adventures and sights. Some of the best landscapes and hiking trails are just a few miles away from the city. One of the locals' favorite destinations is a nearby canyon, which also has waterfalls at a creek that's just a few kilometers from southern Arizona's dry desert terrain. At the canyon, visitors can spot deer, skunks, and tortoises.

In 1887, a natural event rocked the canyon's structure and many boulders were dislodged within the canyon walls. Now, it's difficult to access the place by cars after the first trams began operations in 1978. Because of this, many people visiting the place travel on foot or on bicycles.
