Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Marana, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Marana is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Marana, AZ Tidbits

Located northwest of Tucson is the exciting town of Marana. During the 2010 census, the town's population was 34,961 people and it was considered the fourth fastest growing place in Arizona from 1990 to 2000. Different settlers have inhabited the area for over 4,200 years, starting with the Hohokam people before the European pioneers arrived to establish new settlements.

Marana is home to several historic landmarks and edifices like an archeological mound, which is the only remnant of what used to be a very large natural structure that was part of a village built by an ancient indigenous tribe. This group lived between the river in Santa Cruz and several mountains.

The mound is surrounded by a wall made of mud bricks. At the site, there are also rooms and around 35 residential compounds. Another archeological site stands near Ina Road and the Interstate 10. It is the site of the oldest canals in the North American continent, as well as one of the oldest pipes in the entire world.

Another structure from an ancient indigenous culture is a ball court village at the Santa Cruz floodplain. Many historians speculate that this was also the location of a campsite used by Spanish explorers who came to Arizona in 1775. There is a now a 15-mile hike on a designated national historic trail near this campsite, which is located near what is now the town's cement plant.

A nearby hill located in the Trincheras community is considered a natural landmark in the Tucson region. According to scientists, the hill dates back to somewhere between 1200 and 1350 A.D. Around it are 150 terraces and 75 pit houses, as well as an adobe-walled compound used by ancient Indian tribes.

Another trail that serves as a stagecoach line was used in the country from 1857 to 1861. It had many stops and carried passengers over to Tennessee, Missouri, California, Arkansas, and Arizona, among others. One of its stops in the area was found during the excavation of the ball court. There are many more historical landmarks and sites near Marana because of the town's long history. The name "Marana" comes from a Spanish word that meant "thicket". It was given to the town by railroad workers in the 19th century who were tasked to clear the area for the rail line.

The town of Marana was once filled with cattle and ranches, but it soon became a major center for agricultural products like cotton, wheat, barley, alfalfa, pecans, and more. The Hohokam people lived in the area for many years, but after they left, the place began to become the home for many European settlers. Some American pioneers had come to the area because of Arizona's clean air during the 20th century. They lived in a town that was called "Postvale".

It was during this time that the railroad companies began sweeping the state. The post office soon bore the name "Marana" instead of Postvale because of the thickets that had grown in the area before they were cut down to make way for the train stations.
