Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Tempe, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Tempe is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Tempe, AZ Tidbits
Tempe is a city in Arizona and it was named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece. Located in Maricopa County, Tempe reportedly had 161,179 residents during the 2010 census. The city is surrounded by big cities like Phoenix, Scottsdale, Chandler, and Mesa. It is also home to eight colleges and universities, and five basic education school districts.
The city has a water area of 0.26 square miles and a land area of 39.97 square miles. The latest survey in 2016 revealed that Tempe had a population of 182,498 residents. In 1880, when the community was still young and there were only a few settlers, Tempe had only 135 residents. The city's major population growth first happened in 1950 when it had 7,684 residents. It was a 164.4 percent increase from the number in 1940. In 1960, Tempe experienced a 224 percent in population size with 24,897 residents.
Before the city was called "Tempe", though, it was first known as "Hayden's Ferry". In 1865, a historic structure was established in the area, near the upper Salt River. Several soldiers and Hispanic workers were hired to grow crops and live in the area.
Eventually, the small camps in the region became two prominent communities. They were called "San Pablo" and "Hayden's Ferry". The latter got its name from a ferry service. This ferry became the town's foremost form of transportation.
The city's current name, however, came from the Vale of Tempe because of the area's Salt River Valley. One of the natural conservation places in Tempe is a preserve at a location near the campus of a state university in Arizona. It used to simply be called "Tempe Butte" and is 1,398-feet-high. The preserve is a well-known area located on the southeast corner of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway.
It was first designated as a park in 1973 and then a preserve in 2002. Within the preserve, there are 500 petroglyphs, which are images carved on rocks. Many of them were left behind by an ancient indigenous group who inhabited many areas of Arizona and Mexico more than 10,000 years ago, between 750 A.D. and 1450 A.D.
The city has a civic center, which is also home to many dance and music companies. Of course, Tempe also has its own historical museum, which is located on East Southern Avenue. The museum shows the city's history through different media styles of storytelling.
Another museum in the city is located on South 48th Street. It has 16,000 square feet of space that features exhibits and replicas that are meant to teach visitors about the human body. Inside are displays on the right food to eat, healthy exercise and diet, and other things needed to keep the body healthy.
Tempe also has a learning center for aquatic animals and marine life. It has over 26,000 square feet of aquarium space that holds animals like jellyfish, sharks, clownfish, lionfish, rays, seahorses, and angel fish. The center's interactive rock pool is where visitors can touch crabs, lobsters, and starfish.
