Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Carefree, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Carefree is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Carefree, AZ Tidbits
With only 3,363 residents during the 2010 census, Carefree, Arizona is considered a relatively serene and small town in Maricopa County, Arizona. The town started with 964 residents during the 1980 census. This increased by 71.9 percent in 1990 when it had 1,653 people living there. In 2000, the town of Carefree was home to 2,927 residents. In 2016, the estimated population for Carefree was 3,724 people.
The town of Carefree is well-known for having inventive street names like Stagecoach Pass, Rocking Chair Road, Tranquil Trail, Long Rifle, Nonchalant Avenue, Bloody Basin, Ho, and Hum. The Carefree community was the brainchild of two businessmen. It began as an idea they developed during the 1950s. They created a land development corporation, whose name the town later took.
Carefree was created as a town that would preserve the authentic Old Western spirit where the indigenous wild plants and natural desert terrain would be protected for years to come. The town experienced economic growth and prosperity from 1959 to 1984. One reason was the increase in visitors and tourists.
Some of them became residents while others were able to boost Carefree's tourism industry. Around this time, a fly-in residential development was established. It has been around for more than five decades now, having been established in 1961. When several inns and restaurants were built in the area, more people flocked to Carefree.
The first residential home in Carefree was built on the Black Mountain foothills. It was also the first home to be featured on the cover of a state lifestyle magazine. By the 1970s, there were 300 homes in Carefree. Finally, in 1984, Carefree was incorporated as a town.
The locals' effort to incorporate the town was largely due to the fact that they didn't want to be annexed to their much larger neighbor, Scottsdale. In the early years of the 21st century, the town of Carefree saw an increase in population to more than 2,500 residents.
Carefree is just under nine square miles, but it offers many natural parks. It has a local desert garden, which is one of only two public botanical gardens in the area. The garden serves as a learning center for visitors who want to learn about wild desert plants, cacti species, and flowers native to the southwest.
The town is just 17 miles from the Tonto National Forest and Bartlett Lake, which is a reservoir that was formed after the construction of the Bartlett Dam in 1939. It was the first reservoir that was formed from the Verde River.
The most prominent landmark in town is the giant sundial that was erected in the plaza in 1959. It is considered the third largest sundial in the Western Hemisphere. It is made of steel and copper and points to the North Star. The Carefree Sundial has a diameter of 90 feet. The town is also home to a major filming studio during the later 1960s. The 160-acre property was located just a few minutes from North Scottsdale. The place where the studio once stood is now the location of several residential developments.
