Our Amerisleep Cooling Mattress Protector comes backed with a 10-year limited warranty.
Please note: Our Cooling Mattress Protector is designed to be machine washed and air-dried. Drying on high heat may cause the waterproof barrier to blister and peel, which voids your warranty.
FRíO® rapid chill cooling fibers are proven to cool five times faster than traditional polyester bedding. Unlike other fibers coated in temporary cooling treatments, our FRíO® rapid chill cooling fibers utilize mineral-based benefits to deliver a refreshingly cooler sleep surface all night long. Our exclusive cooling fibers are infused with micarex minerals that form countless heat-channeling tunnels at the core of each fiber. These channels create a pathway that allows your body heat to dissipate quickly throughout each FRíO® fiber, cutting down on the accumulation of heat directly surrounding your body as you sleep.
Our waterproof protector can hold up to one liter of liquid and is machine-washable, so you can keep your mattress covered and your protector like-new. Plus, our protector never shrinks, so you can wash it as many times as you like without causing damage.
Without a mattress protector, your bed accumulates dead skin cells, dust, and other germs. While dirt buildup isn’t healthy for anybody, it’s especially bad for sleepers with allergies. Our protector effectively keeps out dust mites and other allergens.
Our OmniGuard® Advance fabric has passed the highest barrier performance test established by the Centers for Disease Control and is certified to block viruses 32 nanometers in diameter. Covid-19 is approximately 125 nanometers in diameter.

Nope! Our mattress protector is vapor-porous, so it prevents liquid from penetrating the mattress but allows air to flow as normal. The Amerisleep Cooling Mattress Protector is exceptionally breathable, shielding your mattress without causing sleep disruptions.
The Amerisleep Cooling Mattress Protector is paper-thin so it doesn’t feel bulky or bunch up below your bed sheets. Its lightweight design also promotes better airflow to ensure hot air isn’t trapped in the bed close to your body.
Nope. Our mattress protector fits like a fitted sheet and features elastic edging to keep the protector securely in place. We design our protector like a sheet so that it’s easier to take on and off the bed, allowing for more convenient cleaning.
It does not! Although many Cooling Mattress Protectors can feel like plastic or have an unpleasant chemical-like scent, ours is designed to feel soft and smooth and smell odorless. Plus, it’s OEKO-TEX® certified, meaning it's free from the harmful chemicals that can cause off-gassing and, as a result, it’s less likely to smell.
Our Amerisleep Cooling Mattress Protector does not qualify for the 100-night sleep trial. The 100-night sleep trial was designed to give customers a chance to test the comfort of a product and ensure it’s right for them, and since mattress protectors don’t play a role in your comfort, they do not qualify for the sleep trial.
Some Cooling Mattress Protectors can make you hot because they contain vinyl, and vinyl is a non-breathable material. Before buying a mattress protector, check to make sure it’s vinyl-free. While vinyl protectors are usually the most inexpensive options, we don’t recommend them because they can cause night sweats and as a result, impede sleep.
Most mattress protectors last around 5 to 7 years. Some can last up to 10 years while others only last 2 or 3 years. When shopping for a mattress protector, check to see if it comes with a warranty.
The length of the warranty is usually a good indicator of the quality of the product. Products with 2-year warranties may only last 2 or 3 years, whereas products with 10-year warranties are expected to last longer.
Yes! If you own a memory foam mattress, we highly suggest buying a mattress protector to shield the foam layers from liquid spills. Memory foam is essentially one giant sponge, so when liquid seeps through bedding and the mattress cover, the memory foam layers directly below are ready to soak it up. Cooling Mattress Protectors can prevent an accident from ruining your foam bed.
Even if your mattress protector is designed to work like a fitted sheet, you still need to place a fitted sheet over the top of it for better comfort. If you don’t place a fitted sheet on top of your mattress protector, you’ll end up sleeping directly on top of the protector. While that isn’t necessarily bad, most people enjoy the extra softness sheets provide.
Mattress pads and protectors are sometimes used interchangeably, but they do have their differences. Mattress protectors are designed solely to shield your bed from dirt, germs, and spills. Mattress pads, on the other hand, are meant to add a little comfort to your mattress, as they contain cushioning materials in their tops.
Mattress pads usually fit like fitted sheets and offer some level of protection for your mattress, but they’re not true mattress protectors. Although a mattress pad may be a neat sleep accessory, it usually cannot shield your mattress from liquid, either, so mattress pads are not suited for protecting your bed from accidents.
