Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Sugar Land, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Sugar Land is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Sugar Land, TX Tidbits

Sugar Land, Texas, belongs to the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area. From 2000 to 2010, the city experienced a 158 percent increase in its population size. The latest survey pegged the city as having more than 88,156 residents. Its median annual income is $104,939, which is higher than the median income of Texas and even the United States. This means that, not only is Sugar Land a fast-growing community, it is also an affluent one.

The city takes its name after the fact that it was once a sugar orchard in the early 20th century. Some of the area's first settlers established an orchard there because there were many different kinds of oaks in the area like willow, live, water, southern red, and post oak trees.

In 1838, several farms started growing cotton, corn, and sugarcane. Because of the abundance of farming opportunities, Sugar Land was the center of economic activity and entertainment along the Brazos River.

The place was called "Sugar Land" because of the sugar canes and the most prominent 12,500-acre orchard later became the location of a sugar-refining plant in 1879. Now, Sugar Land is home to the main office of a well-known sugar company whose crown logo is part of Sugar Land's city seal.

The most common job held by residents of Sugar Land is in management, followed by sales, administrative, business and financial operations, and architecture and engineering. The last one offers a high salary. During the 2015 economy, Sugar Land's architects and engineers earned a median yearly salary of more than $100,000.

The most popular industries, though, are healthcare and social assistance, as well as the professional, scientific, and tech services. The residents of Sugar Land have a diverse ethnic and cultural make-up. There, the residents come from Mexico, India, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nigeria.

While Texas has a high number of residents from Mexico, Spanish only ranks second in the most common non-English languages spoken in Sugar Land. The highest rank goes to Chinese, followed by Spanish, and then Vietnamese. Since there are also many Sugar Land locals who came from India, the city has a large number of residents who speak Urdu, compared to other places in the country. Some of them also speak Gujarati and Hindi.

Sugar Land has several parks that offer more than 65 miles for walking, running, and biking. The city's neighborhoods have a network of paved walkways, sideways, and bike paths for visitors and residents who want to engage in leisurely cardio. The Brazos River Park on 18427 Southwest Freeway is a 67-acre regional park along the Brazos River. It is also right next to the festival grounds. Current renovations will result new amenities, aside from the grills, restrooms, and benches already on the park.

City Park on 225 Seventh Street is a 21-acre community park that offers fields for different sports like baseball or softball, football, tennis, and volleyball. It also has amenities and features like picnic areas, bike trails, restrooms, a skate park, pavilion, and even a pool.

Because of the park's many facilities, it is a popular recreation center during the holidays and weekends. It also has a hike and bike trail that connects to the Sugar Mill subdivision through Sugar Land Middle School and Lakeview Elementary School. It finally links to another area, the Lonnie Green Park. The Cullinan Park provides access to the lake and wetlands where many locals go kayaking and canoeing. It is also part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's birding trail.
