Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Pasadena, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Pasadena is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Pasadena, CA Tidbits

Pasadena, California is a city in Los Angeles County. In 2013, Pasadena was considered the 183rd largest city in the country. It is also the 9th largest city in Los Angeles County and is just 10 miles from the downtown Los Angeles. Pasadena was the second city in the county to be incorporated, behind only the city of Los Angeles itself. It is located in the San Gabriel Valley and is considered one of the major cultural centers of the state.

Pasadena was part of a Mexican land grant, along with other present-day cities like Altadena and South Pasadena. Pasadena's history can be traced back to the Indiana Colony that was incorporated in 1874. It grew quickly and even had a school in Orange Grove. This new community only occupied the land between Fair Oaks Avenue and Arroyo Seco. This place eventually became a train stop, which helped the town's economy. During the 1880s, it became a popular winter resort because of its climate and weather. More hotels started construction during this time.

Soon, Pasadena had its first freeway, the Arroyo Seco Parkway. In 1940, Pasadena was considered the 8th largest city in the state, and it was also thought of as the twin city of Los Angeles. The first great hotel in the city was opened in 1886, and its train depot was constructed in the second district in 1887. Pasadena was also once home to a premier acting school that trained people in acting. It was the first conservatory of its kind in the country. It opened in New York and later in Pasadena in 1974, but it later moved to Hollywood.

In 1880, the city's population was a mere 391 people. This increased in 1890 after the community became well-known as a resort and after the railway established a train station there. During that time, the city had 4,882 people. This was a tremendous 1,148.6 percent increase. Several decades down the line, in 1950, the city was home to 104,577 people. This was a 27.7 percent increase from the previous decade. In 1990, there were 131,591 people living in Pasadena. In 2000, this number increased by 1.8 percent, with 133,936 people calling Pasadena home. In 2010, a 2.4 percent increase had the city's population at 137,122. In 2016, the number of people living in Pasadena was 142,059.

Old Town Pasadena is known for its historic landmarks and its high number of retail stores and restaurants. It spans 21 blocks in the city's downtown district. The city is also known for its parade of roses, which happens every New Year. The first parade was held in 1890. Later on, a football game was added to the list of activities, and it was usually held at the city stadium, which is considered a historic landmark. The city is also home to several galleries and museums.

The parade of roses starts at Orange Grove Boulevard, one of the city's historic streets. It's also an exclusive residential area, and is home to several mansions that were built in the 20th century for company executives and celebrities. Because of this, the place was also called the "Millionaire's Row."
