Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Hemet, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Hemet is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Hemet, CA Tidbits
Hemet is a city in the San Jacinto Valley, and it has a total land area of 27.847 square miles. It shares half of the valley with its next-door neighbor, San Jacinto. Aside from San Jacinto, Hemet is surrounded by the Santa Rosa Hills and the San Jacinto Mountains. Hemet is only 80 miles from Los Angeles. The United States census bureau's 2010 report stated that there were about 78,657 residents in the city.
The Hemet Library's heritage room offers a detailed history of the city and listed several important events during the 1800s. 1858 was when Hemet was established as a farm settlement area. 1893 was when Hemet had its first elementary school building constructed on North Alessandro Street. The following year, Hemet built its first high school at Buena Vista and Acacia Avenue.
Before those events, Hemet was first inhabited by members of a local tribe. It became a cattle ranch that the Mexican government used in their settlements. The city of Hemet owes improvement to the efforts of two well-off businessmen. A pivotal event that helped shaped the city of Hemet was when an author visited San Jacinto Valley in 1883 to collect substantial information from settlers living on the east side of the San Jacinto River.
During her visit, she connected with various residents of the valley where she met two ranch owners in an area what was then called Hemet Valley. She learned about the plans to develop the place and saw a promising area in Hemet Valley to build a dam for sufficient water supply. The two ranchers with the help of other investors established a water company on January 27, 1887. They planned to build a reservoir to provide enough water to two town sites, Hemet and South San Jacinto.
They also wanted a railroad company to run the tracks through to the community, and to the town of San Jacinto. The first train came in April 1888 and, in turn, it gave convenient access for potential land buyers for Hemet and South San Jacinto.
In 1895, the dam was finally built on the San Jacinto River, giving an ample supply of water to the entire San Jacinto Valley. The water system was able to contribute to the valley's progress as an agricultural community.
Over the course of time, the area developed and there were several general stores, a drug store, a barber shop, two blacksmith shops, a harness shop, a shoe store, and there was even a three-story hotel in between Harvard and State Streets. The town of Hemet continued to grow despite severe droughts during 1898 to 1900.
On January 11, 1910, over a hundred residents finally voted for Hemet's incorporation. The order of its incorporation was filed in Riverside County. The incorporation resulted in Hemet's rapid advancement and the city became a trading center several crops like citrus, apricots, peaches, olives, and walnuts. Hemet even hosted a farmer's fair, which started out as a mere turkey show.
During the 1950s, Hemet's population reached the 10,000 mark. It became one of the largest cities in Riverside County, alongside Corona and Riverside. In the early 1960s, Hemet experienced a shift. Residential areas started to fill the city. The country's first mobile home subdivision was constructed, and Hemet became a popular retirement neighborhood.
In the 1980s, Residential homes started to increase, and this was able to draw working-class families in because of the area's closeness to employment centers. Today Hemet is still known as a retirement destination. The city's economy is based primarily on health services to the senior community.
