Bellflower is a city in Los Angeles County, California. It has on its border Downey on the north and northwest, Cerritos and Norwalk on the east, on the south is Lakewood, southwest is Long Beach, and Paramount on the west. The city is part of Southeast Los Angeles County as well as the "Gateway Cities Council of Governments." It has a total area of 6.2 square miles. 6.1 square miles is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water. It was established in 1906 and was incorporated on September 3, 1957.

It is in the upper quartile of the Population Density and Diversity Index compared to other cities, towns and Census Designated Places in the state of California. The racial makeup of the city is 14.0 percent African American, 1.0 percent indigenous, 11.6 percent Asian, 0.8 percent Pacific Islanders, and 25.8 percent from other races. The median age is 32.2, and the median income is $48,823.
