Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Palm Springs, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Palm Springs is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Palm Springs, CA Tidbits
Before it was known as a resort city, Palm Springs was considered home to an indigenous group of people. They settled in the area because the place had plenty of water, hot springs, and shade. Many modern leaders of local tribes in California today were from Palm Springs.
Back then, these people hunted rabbit, goats, quail, and they love collecting berries, acorns, and seeds. They also made tortillas from mesquite beans. Before Palm Springs had its name, it was first called "Se-Khi," which meant boiling water. Many of the first settlers in Palm Springs are remembered through the names of the streets in the city.
The city's name was first recorded and used in 1853 maps. According to several local historians, the county's topographical engineers dubbed the area "Palm Springs," presumably because of the various California palms. The area was also once called "Palmetto Springs" and "Big Palm Springs."
In the 1900s, Palm Springs became a fashionable resort city. A travel writer once wrote that Palm Springs's natural charm and landscape made it attractive to residents and travelers. One of the earliest hotels in the city served many important guests. The hotel eventually closed its doors in 1909. Similar establishments followed suit. However, in 1909, one inn rose to fame and it expanded as a modern hotel during the 1920s. The inn closed in 1967.
The next luxurious hotel that was built in Palm Springs attracted the biggest movie stars when the establishment opened in 1927. The Renaissance style tower became a huge part of early Palm Springs life. The hotel stayed open until 1972, and after that, the hospital adjacent to the hotel bought the property and turned the posh hotel into a state-of-the-art hospital.
In the 1930s, Palm Springs became famous with movie stars. These celebrities started purchasing properties at the Tahquitz River Estates and Las Palmas neighborhoods. In 1936, the Plaza Center was established in Palm Springs, and it was Southern California's first ever self-contained commercial establishment.
Today, tourism plays a huge impact on the city economy, and as of 2011, Palm Springs had over 1.6 million visitors. According to the 2010 census, Palm Spring's population was 44,552, and the 2016 estimate was about 47,689 residents. To date, the City of Palm Spring has over 130 hotels and resorts, bed and breakfast inns, and over 100 restaurants and dining areas.
Because Palm Springs, California was loved by Hollywood stars, this resort town became a popular choice for filming locations and storyline subjects for various movies, TV series, and even literary works. Palm Springs is frequently highlighted in numerous popular culture references.
There were films being shot in Palm Springs as early as the 1910s, but one of the first significant films was a 1937 drama-fantasy movie. A lot of the movie's exterior shots were filmed in Tahquitz Canyon, which has a huge cultural significance to local tribes in the area. There's a visitor's center and hiking trail for the Tahquitz Canyon. The trail is a two-mile loop, which leads 351 feet to Tahquitz Falls.
