Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Norwalk, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Norwalk is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Norwalk, CA Tidbits
Norwalk, located 17 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is California's 58th most heavily populated city. With over 100,000 residents, it is not a surprise why it is part of the Gateway Cities in Los Angeles County. The Mexican cities of Morelia, Michoacan, Hermosillo, and Sonora, are all Norwalk's sister cities.
Initially, the area of what is now Norwalk used to be inhabited by local tribes. They depended on gathering berries, acorns, sage, and honey. They also hunted squirrel, rabbit, and birds. Spanish settlers came and developed the area during the 1760s. In 1833, the Mexican government passed a bill that returned the land to the locals.
During the 1860s, the farming and mining days in the state of California ended and the land was subdivided into different portions. Two brothers from Oregon bought 463 acres of land for only 11 dollars an acre. By 1873, the brothers gave 23 acres of their land to be used as a passenger stop because they heard news spreading that there would be a railroad service in the area. Three days after, railroad officials crossed the "North-walk" and inspected the site for the first time. The town name was officially changed to Norwalk in 1874. A huge part of Norwalk stayed underdeveloped throughout the 1880s, but the railroad station was able to invite visitors and potential residents to the area. As a result, the first families, including the two brothers, worked hand in hand to secure a bright future for their growing community.
Soon after, the first school system was established, and cheese production became the town's first-ever industry. One of Norwalk's historic houses was built in 1891. Recently, the Victorian home was donated to the city of Norwalk and now includes a museum. Norwalk was also known for its dairy products, and 50 local families earned a living thanks to the dairy industry. Thus, the city earned the title "Heart of the Valleys."
Norwalk also had the largest sugar beet farms in all of Southern California. As years passed, the little town became a bustling community. Educational institutions were created, utility companies were put up, and railroads linked Norwalk to other business sectors.
The need for a local government was taken into consideration, and soon, a special incorporation election took place. On August 26, 1957, Norwalk officially became California's 15th largest city and Los Angeles County's 66th city. Other community amenities came with its cityhood. There were significant improvements in services given to the citizens of Norwalk.
To date, the city has a total land area of 9.707 square miles. Norwalk is surrounded by other Gateway Cities like Downey, Cerritos, Artesia, and Santa Fe Springs. The latest recorded population was about 105,549 residents. The 2010 census report stated that 103,934 people lived in households and the average household size was 3.83. There were a total of 22,583 families in Norwalk, and the average family size was about 4 members.
