Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Alhambra, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Alhambra is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Alhambra, CA Tidbits
Alhambra, a city located in the western San Gabriel Valley region, is roughly eight miles from California's largest city. Alhambra's zip codes are 91801 and 91803. The Area Codes are 626 and 323. The city has its very own community transit, but there are other public transport vehicles available as well.
The history of Alhambra started when the Spanish explorers arrived in the area on September 8, 1771. The land became a part of a 300,000-acre reward made by the Spanish government. In 1820, these land grants were transferred to the jurisdiction of the United States government.
A wealthy developer eventually bought the land which would soon become Alhambra. His daughter gave him the idea to name it after a book she was reading. When Alhambra was founded, it was classified as a suburb of Los Angeles and it stayed an unincorporated area throughout the mid-19th century. The first school in Alhambra was constructed on a hillside estate donated by a prominent family. The city's first public high school was built in 1898. On July 11, 1903, Alhambra was officially incorporated as a city. The city's own fire department was established three years later.
Because the city had a large number of historic homes, Alhambra was originally considered "the City of Homes". The city's historic houses feature different styles including craftsman, bungalow and more. Over 20 archaic residential areas have been assigned as historic neighborhoods by the city of Alhambra. Included on the list of historical places are Alhambra's former airport, a home of an early resident, and a city park.
By the 1950s, Alhambra was the place to go in the entire San Gabriel Valley because of its ostentatious and chic look. Today, many of its well-known buildings have been replaced by a variety of modern commercial establishments. As a result, Alhambra gained a new wave of immigrants from Italy, Mexico, and China. During the 1980s, new residents from China developed their business district at the Valley Boulevard.
Alhambra is bordered by numerous cities like South Pasadena on its northwest, San Marino on its north, San Gabriel on its east, and Monterey Park on its south. The city has a total land area of 20 square kilometers. The 2010 report of census bureau noted that Alhambra had a population of 83,089 residents with a population density of 10,887.4 people per square mile.
The racial makeup of the city consists mostly of Asians. Over 50 percent of the residents surveyed were Asian. The census also reported that 82,475 people live in households, and the average household size is 2.82 people. There are over 20,000 families and an average family has 3.30 members.
The majority of the population were aged 25 to 44, and the average age was 39.3 years old. From the year 2009 to 2013, Alhambra residents had an average income of $54,148. The city of Alhambra is governed by a city council composed of five members and one of the five is chosen as the city mayor.
