Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in San Bernardino, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in San Bernardino is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

San Bernardino, CA Tidbits
The city of San Bernardino is the seat of San Bernardino County and had 209,924 residents during the 2010 census. It was in the early 1800s that the colorful history of San Bernardino started. The first pioneers to the area were from Spain. The area served as an outpost for other Spanish explorers and travelers who roamed all over the California territory and befriended many different Indian tribes.
A structure was established in the area for the Native American tribes who lived there. It was during this time that the region was called "San Bernardino". The community of Rancho San Bernardino was developed in 1819. The Indian settlers irrigated their lands and crops by transporting water from Mill Creek. Both the Indians and the Spanish colony thrived, and these historic events led to the establishment of the Spanish Trail.
During the early years, pioneer trailblazers spent a considerable amount of their time in the valley. The Spanish landowners were housed in beautiful haciendas. Another group of settlers arrived in the valley in 1851. There were around 500 of them and they made camp at the mouth of a creek that flowed swiftly through the valley to the Santa Ana River.
The settlers called this stream "Lytle Creek". The valley where they settled had a dense growth wild oats and mustard, sycamores, cottonwoods, willows that grew on the hillsides, in addition to the abundance of water.
A monument was constructed on top of Mount San Bernardino in late 1852. The baseline of the monument ran where surveys in Southern California are still being made. In 1854, the community flourished and that same year, San Bernardino was incorporated officially as a city.
The settlers went back to Salt Lake City in 1857. Although some elected to stay, many of them left. However, the settlers' achievements in town helped it became a better city. They had established a strong local government, a network of roads, stores, and schools.
In 1860, in the Holcomb Valley, gold was discovered. Prospecting men rushed into the mountains through San Bernardino to try their luck at getting rich by panning for gold. Belleville, which was located in the Holcomb Valley, was the largest city in Southern California for a while.
The population of Belleville was some 10,000 people at the time. The community nearly won the county seat and lost by only one vote to San Bernardino. At the time, the San Bernardino library and several local associations were established.
Large railroad companies eventually arrived in San Bernardino in the late 1800s. Their arrival changed San Bernardino and the small community, turning it into an enterprising city. The Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, and Santa Fe railroads all ran through San Bernardino, which made it the center of operations in Southern California.
The competition between railroads resulted in the great land boom of the 1880s and many thousands of new people arrived in California. In 1886, when the Santa Fe Railroad developed a transcontinental link, the already flourishing valley and the population increased as even more pioneers arrived from the East. The population figures doubled to 12,779 people in 1910 from 6,150 people in 1900. The year 1910 saw the establishment of the San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce.
