Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Redlands, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Redlands is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Redlands, CA Tidbits

One of the former presidents of the United States of America loved to hunt in the woods. His most favorite place was Redlands, California. Located some 45 miles northwest of Palm Springs and some 60 miles east of Los Angeles, the city of Redlands is known for its historical landmarks and Victorian architecture.

This community is an abundant producer of citrus fruits, which historically drove the economy upwards. The city is named after the color of the adobe soil in the area. Redlands is a large community with a small-town feel. The rich conversation, historical legacy, and good reputation of the city garnered a lot of media and business attention. Part of its allure is its historic and well-manicured lawns, mountain views, and its tree-lined streets.

Redland's history is also colorful. The first pioneer that came upon the area was a sheep herder and so, the town started out as a grazing land for sheep and cattle. Other farmers arrived to settle in the area. The slow growth of the town prompted the arrival of a school teacher. Other settlers of different ethnic heritage also arrived.

Some of the early historical events in the region indicate that the land was part of territories of tribes, including the Cahuilla Indian tribe. Explorers arrived during the 1700s under the Spanish reign. The area in the San Bernardino Valley was then used as an outpost by the European settlers in 1810. During this time, the Native American tribes had learned how to raise crops. Permanent settlements were greatly encouraged. Sometime later, the region that was previously claimed by Spain became the custody of the Mexican government.

A prominent family in the area purchased land grants and established a permanent settlement by 1842. Some other pioneers arrived and established prosperous farming settlements in the San Bernardino Mountains. The arrival of the railroad was very important in the 1880s because this led to an increase in population and the rise of several industries. The settlement prospered due to the talents of engineers and stockbrokers who brought water from the mountains and helped to lay out plans for a modern community.

The settlement of Chicago was instrumental in the development of Redlands' downtown business district. Three presidents of the United States visited the community and praised it for its businesses, tourist attractions, and preservation of historic structures.

Built in 1898, the A.K. Smiley Public Library is one of the most notable local landmarks in Redlands. It reflects a Moorish-style architecture. Redlands, California is known as the "Jewel of the Inland Empire". The Lincoln Shrine, located behind the library, is a museum dedicated to the 19th century life and the life of one of the country's most famous presidents. The museum contains extensive collections of photos, artifacts, diaries, and manuscripts, which are maintained by the library's special division.

Some of what makes Redland famous are the elegant Victorian homes. The Kimberly Crest House and Gardens is a unique museum and castle that was constructed 1897. The picturesque French Chateau offers people the opportunity to explore ponds and terraced Italian gardens. Some orange groves and a park surround the chateau. This 7,000-square-foot structure is located on a hill that overlooks the valley and is three stories tall. There are Redlands neighborhoods that are also filled with renovated and restored Victorian-style homes, some of which are owned by citrus barons of California.

Surrounded by beautiful mountain views, Redlands offers many different exciting modern-day activities like horseback riding, biking, or hiking on the pristine nature trails found at the city's parks. From just 1,900 residents during the 1890s, Redlands now has a population of 71,288 people during the 2016 estimate.
