Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Pasadena, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Pasadena is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Pasadena, CA Tidbits
The city of Pasadena, California was home to 139,731 people in 2013, making it the 9th largest city in the Los Angeles County. The first inhabitants of the Pasadena area were the Hahamog-na tribe, a Native American people from the Tongva Nation.
Decades later, the area became part of the Mexican land grant during the 19th century. It was once part of the Rancho del Rincon de San Pascual. Other cities that were once part of this grant were South Pasadena and Altadena. Back then, the pieces of land were sold to early European-American settlers who bought ranches in the area.
Many people from Indiana came to the California area to look for a cure for their bronchial ailments. They heard of the new community from a doctor and were willing to move to another state to find residence at a place where they could get a walking cure. Many of them purchased land and built houses in the area, which was recognized as the Indiana Colony. Beside it was a residential community that was in development. Eventually, the two communities merged and was called "Pasadena".
Before the city was incorporated as a city in 1886, it already had a public library. Pasadena's current public library, meanwhile, was dedicated in 1927. It is 110,000-square-feet wide and is considered a national historic landmark.
The city is now home to several intellectual institutions that are known throughout the country and the world. It is home to the California Institute of Technology, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, 33 Nobel Laureates, and more. It is also the site of many learning centers and museums like the Norton Simon Museum on 411 W. Colorado Boulevard.
Another establishment is the Pasadena Museum of History on 470 W. Walnut Street. The museum's property has a garden and a history center, among others. The museum is housed in the Feynes Mansion, which is a Pasadena Cultural Heritage Landmark. The mansion has 16 rooms and has been featured in several notable films.
Another prominent landmark and center in Pasadena, California is the Huntington Library and Gardens, which was founded in 1919. There is also a botanical garden on the 120-acre area. The city hosts a world-renowned rose festival. The Colorado Boulevard is also where the rose parade passes through and it is home to the historic Route 66.
The city is also where you will find prominent academic institutions and commercial companies. The Old Pasadena or "Old Town" is the city's historic district, which has 20th century structures and landmarks, as well as knew shops and boutiques. Because of the abundance of academic establishments in the city, it was referred to as the "Athens of the West".
Some of its higher education institutions include Pasadena City College, the Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music, CalTech, and Pacific Oaks College. Most of the basic education public schools in the city are operated by the Pasadena Unified School District. It manages 17 elementary schools, five middle schools, and two high schools. The school district also serves other communities like Altadena and Sierra Madres. There are also more than a dozen private schools in the city.
