Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Palmdale, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Palmdale is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Palmdale, CA Tidbits
The city of Palmdale is located in the center of the Los Angeles County. During the 2010 census, it had 152,750 residents and is considered the 33rd most populous city in the entire state of California. The first European settlement established in the region was called "Palmenthal". It began in 1886, with residents from the Midwest. They were of German and Swiss heritage and were, according to local history, looking for a community close to the ocean.
They mistook the area's Joshua trees for palm trees and when they settled there, they called it "Palmenthal", which meant "Palms Valley". Two years later, a post office was established in the young community. More people came to the area to start their own farms and ranches. However, many of them weren't experienced in farming so they left soon after, until only one family had remained in town in 1899.
Those who moved out settled near the Southern Pacific railroad tracks. They named their new community "Palmdale". More people relocated to this young town, and the population only increased after the construction of the California-Los Angeles Aqueduct, which brought water into the town from the Owens Valley. Many were able to grow and harvest apples, pears, alfalfa, and more. In 1915, the town was able to start its own newspaper, which has now been renamed the Antelope Valley Press.
In 1962, Palmdale was incorporated as a city. It was the first one in the Antelope Valley. After 47 years, it was then designated as a charter city. Palmdale is the valley's second largest city and is located in the High Desert, making its spring and summer months very hot. However, the city also experiences strong winds. In fact, wind turbines are largely and commonly used to generate electricity throughout the area.
Palmdale is a city with a long history and dozens of parks, recreation and culture centers, museums, and historical landmarks. The Joe Davies Heritage Park is home to a collection of United States aircraft and planes that have been manufactured since the 1930s. There are over 21 planes at the park that have been used throughout the country's history.
The city is also home to several nature parks like the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. The poppy is the state's official flower and the reserve protects them. During certain months of the year, the poppies bloom, creating an entire sea of yellows and oranges over the hills and valleys.
There are three elementary school districts and one high school district that serve the city of Palmdale like the Westside Union School District, Keppel Union School District, Antelope Valley Union High School, and the Palmdale School District. The Palmdale School District is one of the largest elementary school providers in the entire country, with more than 29 schools and 28,000 students. There is also an independent charter school in the city. Opened in 2012, the Palmdale Aerospace Academy focuses on STEM discipline and is a joint program by the AERO Institute, the city, and the Palmdale School District.
Those pursuing higher education can attend a Palmdale satellite campus of the Antelope Valley Community College. There are less than 500 students attending this temporary establishment while the rest study at the one in Lancaster. The DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management campus is also found in Palmdale. There are many colleges and universities that also have satellite campuses in the city like the University of La Verne, University of Phoenix, University of Antelope Valley, Chapman University, and the Palmdale Institute of Technology.
