Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Oxnard, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Oxnard is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Oxnard, CA Tidbits
Known as the 19th most populous city in California, Oxnard has a population of approximately 199,943 people. According to the Metropolitan Statistical Area survey, Oxnard is listed as one of the wealthiest areas in the entire state of California since its residents' national income is well above average.
Historical records show that Oxnard used to be inhabited by the Chumash Native Americans. This tribe lived along the coast of California at least 13,000 years ago. Chumash means "seashell people" since they originated near the Santa Barbara Coast in California.
In 1542, Portuguese explorers arrived in the area and led the missions to find settlements for the Alta California colony. One such community was in 1782. Since then, the residents began growing lima beans and barley while various ranches spread all over the place.
Then, in 1897, several ranchers proposed that beets would be feasible in the area. Hence, a factory was established to harvest and process sugar beets. Soon enough, a beet sugar factory became an important part of the community's economic development. It helped the residents export many products around the country. Originally, the city was to be named after a Greek word for "sugar" but it ended up being named after a prominent family in the area.
In 1898 a train depot was constructed to help the factory with its exports. Most of the workers at the railroad station were of Japanese, Mexican, and Chinese heritage. This added to the community's diverse population.
When it was already a booming commercial community, Oxnard was incorporated as a city in 1903. Four years later, the city's first public library was opened. The mid-20th century brought an increase in Oxnard's population, housing developments, retail stores, and more. During this time, a new harbor was also established and it was called Channel Islands Harbor.
The city has over 20 miles of coastline. It is also situated near the Santa Barbara Channel where whales can be spotted breaking through the water from December to April. Nearby are also the famous Mandalay Beach and the Channel Islands Harbor. The city is also home to several parks, including ones for dogs, and sports competitions. Oxnard is also home to sand dunes that have been used by several TV shows and films to mimic the ones in the Middle East.
The city is the most populous one in Ventura County. It is a major economic hub and is at the center of Southern California's social scene. It is also home to several learning centers and historical institutions like the Murphy Auto Museum, which is located on Statham Boulevard. It houses a display of 75 antique cars, street rods, and classic cars. Some of the collections include various vintage cars from the 80s and vehicles from the early 20th century like a 1903 carriage.
Oxnard's cityscape is a mixture of urban streets, seaside neighborhoods, and harbor areas. Its residential structures and old retail buildings are of various architectural styles, from Victorian to Italian, Tudor Revival, Spanish Revival, and Colonial Revival. Many historic houses are located in the 70-acre Henry T. Oxnard Historic District, which is considered the city's downtown center. There are 139 structures in the district and most of them were built before 1925.
