Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Montebello, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Montebello is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Montebello, CA Tidbits
Montebello is Spanish and Italian for "Beautiful Mountain" and it is the name given to one of the cities in Los Angeles County, California. It's just eight miles from Downtown Los Angeles and is considered one of the state's Gateway Cities.
Before the modern history of the place, Montebello was inhabited by the Tongva Native American group. These people lived in the Los Angeles basin and roamed the neighboring lands. They settled in various towns including the ones that are now known as the Channel Islands of California. Spanish explorers came to the area in the 1500s, but it was only during the 1770s that the area of Montebello would be inhabited largely by Europeans. A small community was established near where the San Gabriel Boulevard is now located.
This settlement became a very successful cattle ranch and farmlands stretched for miles down El Camino Real. The city of Montebello contains neighborhoods that were once part of several land grants like the Rancho San Antonio, Rancho Paso de Bartolo, and Rancho La Merced, which still contains an adobe house that was built in 1844. This structure, located in East Montebello, is considered the city's oldest historic structure. It now serves as a museum that houses photos and artifacts that showcase the life of Montebello's farm life in the 19th century.
The city of Montebello's modern history began during the 1890s after the Spanish lands were subdivided and sold off to the United States of America. The city began as a community on 1,200 acres of land, which was developed by a company that bore the name "Montebello". The original name of the town was "Newmark" after the man who bought the acres of land. However, it was renamed after several years.
While Montebello did have a lot of farmlands and was well-regarded for its cattle, it was more known for its fruits, vegetables, and flowers. There were also a lot of berries planted and harvested in the area. In 1917, oil was discovered in the region and it transformed the city from an agricultural town into a major oil manufacturer. This furthered the city's economic progress and, in 1920, the city was incorporated and formally called "Montebello". At that time, it was the 35th city in the Los Angeles County.
During the 2010 census, the city of Montebello had 62,500 residents. Six years later, it was estimated that the city was home to 63,335 people, a far cry from 5,498, which was the city's population during the decade after its incorporation. The city's median household income during the 2014 survey was $47,562, and its per capita income for a year was $20,972.
Montebello has a sister city in Japan, which is not so surprising since the southern neighborhoods have many Japanese American residents. Flowers and oil wells are the city's most successful industries, although there are still many farms and cattle ranches in the far reaches of the city. The Montebello Unified School District serves the schools in the city, including some basic education institutions in nearby cities like Downey and Pico Rivera, as well as unincorporated communities like East Los Angeles and South San Gabriel.
