Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Lynwood, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Lynwood is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Lynwood, CA Tidbits
The city of Lynwood is part of Los Angeles County, California. The place is located in the southern portion of the Los Angeles Basin and some of its neighboring cities include South Gate and Compton.
Lynwood is covered all in land, according to the United States Census Bureau and it has only a land area of 4.8 square miles. The city's population was down from 69,845 to 69,772 residents, according to a 2010 census report. The city was incorporated only during the 1920s and the United States Postal Service operates two post offices, the Lynwood Post Office on Long Beach Boulevard and the East Lynwood Post Office on Atlantic Avenue.
The County of Los Angeles Public Library is located on Bullis Road. The Los Angeles Public Library system manages 85 branch locations including the one in Lynwood. Vista High School and Lynwood High School, the city's public schools, are also situated at the same area. Vista High School has the highest test scores among the other schools that are part of the Lynwood Unified School District. A 2017 film once used the Lynwood High School campus as the movie's school setting.
The public library has a wide array of collections. It is composed of a collection of over a hundred thousand books, more than ten thousand audio visual materials that include DVDs, audio tapes, and CDs, and there is even a local history collection. About 20 percent of the library's collection is in Spanish. The number of materials in the library is not a surprise because the Los Angeles County Public Library System handles almost a hundred branch locations.
The Lynwood public library started out as volunteer library in a clubhouse room at Long Beach Boulevard. Eventually, the library expanded and moved to Elmwood Avenue from 1918 to 1924. After that, the library transferred to an old building at Sanborn Avenue. A structure was even built to accommodate the quickly growing county library, but that did not last long because the patronage outgrew the building in the Civic Center. Since 1977, the public library continues to serve the people of Lynwood and its neighboring cities.
Lynwood offers a variety of parks and pocket parks. Located on Bullis Road, Lynwood City Park is the largest park out of all the twelve local ones. It includes three natural grass baseball fields, three natural grass soccer fields, two outdoor basketball courts, 22 pieces of exercise equipment, two playgrounds, five picnic shelters, four tennis courts, and a skate park.
The smallest park is just 0.10 acres compared to the 23-acre Lynwood City Park. The Little Pillar Park is indeed little because it contains only a short walk path and several shade trees. The 0.10-acre park is at the corner of Santa Fe Avenue and 108th Street. Rose Park has a large open space surrounded with palm trees and several picnic tables.
Located on Ernestine Avenue, Lynwood's senior center was built to accommodate citizens 55 years old and older. Just across from the local senior center is a recreation hall that the city uses for festivals, ceremonies, and other celebrations. Lynwood also has an aquatic center that has a heated Olympic-sized pool with a one-meter diving stand and an enclosed sun deck. Near the center is the city's community center, which has an indoor basketball gymnasium.
