Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Hawthorne, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Hawthorne is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Hawthorne, CA Tidbits
Hawthorne, California has been around for more than a hundred years. It was founded in 1905 by a land company that bore the Hawthorne name. This company, in turn, got its name from a famous novelist. The city's median household income is $44,504, and it has more than 40,000 residents with stable jobs. This is a 2.55 percent growth from the number during the 2014 financial report.
It was incorporated as a city in 1922 and had a population of 84,293 people during the 2010 census. The number has been steadily growing and the city has now more than 87,000 residents. The locals consider it the "Hub of the South Bay" because it can easily access other cities through three freeways. It is also just a few miles away from Downtown Los Angeles. Many famous public figures like athletes and singers come from Hawthorne.
The city's local is just 90 years of age. Hawthorne's historical museum is relatively new, having just opened in September 2017. The museum houses displays regarding the city's history, as well as Hawthorne's most famous historical figures. There is also a display area that showcases memorabilia and books about the city's most famous group of musicians.
Several landmarks in the area can be found on a previous private property on West 119th Street. The structure no longer stands as it was demolished before the 21st century to make way for the 105 Freeway. Hawthorne also has several parks and recreation centers. One park on West 137th Street has picnic tables and barbecue pits, as well as tennis and basketball courts. The city's public fruit park, meanwhile, serves as an orchard for grapevines, peaches, and plums. Eucalyptus Park has sports field and an aquatic center, which also hosts water aerobics, the city's swim teams, and other events.
As a big city, Hawthorne's schools are served by several school districts. The Centinela Valley Union High School District manages Hawthorne High School and two secondary institutions in nearby Lawndale. Of course, there's also the Hawthorne School District, which serves three middle schools and seven elementary schools. The only high school under it is the charter school, the Hawthorne Math and Science Academy. The Wiseburn School District, meanwhile, serves Juan Cabrillo Elementary School, Peter Burnett Elementary School, and Richard Henry Dana Middle School.
The Lawndale School District handles one middle school and one elementary school in Hawthorne.
