Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Best Time to Buy a Mattress?

Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Garden Grove, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.

Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Garden Grove is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.

The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.

What is the Best Mattress of 2019?

We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.

How Often Should You Replace Your Pillow?

A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.

If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Garden Grove, CA Tidbits

Located just 34 miles south of Los Angeles is the large community of Garden Grove. It had 170,883 residents during the 2010 census, and is well-known for its Strawberry Festival. Its history started in the 19th century with 160 acres of land purchase from an old ranch. The land that was bought is now the site for those living along Lampson Street to Garden Grove Boulevard and from Main Street to Nutwood Street.

In 1874, a civic center was established in the new community. Small businesses and a school district soon began opening up in town. Later on, the community was named "Garden Grove". When 1877 came, more businesses and people arrived in the area. They put up a smithy, a general merchandise store, and a post office.

It was a small community and the residents didn't experience the economic boom until 1905 when a railway came into town to establish lines and depots. This made it easier for the residents to grow, harvest, and sell crops like walnuts, chili peppers, oranges, and strawberries.

Strawberries are an important factor of Garden Grove's economy and they have great historical value. The Garden Grove's strawberry festival attracts more than 250,000 visitors every year. It's one of the biggest strawberry fests in the entire country. The city first held this event in 1985 when the residents decided to commemorate Garden Grove's agricultural history. The festival includes demonstrations and displays of crops and a very large strawberry shortcake.

The State Route 22, known as Garden Grove Freeway, passes through the city, which makes it easier for locals and tourists to access other places in Orange County, California. The suburbs in Garden Grove are clean and quiet, but it's still an urban area and its median home value is at $421,700, which is much higher than the national average. Meanwhile, the median household income is at $58,449, which is higher than the national median.

Garden Grove has also earned an "A+" score form several publications and lifestyle magazines when it comes to the city's economic and ethnic diversity. In Garden Grove, there are many residents from Mexico, Philippines, China, Armenia, Fiji, and Iran. The city's ethnic makeup includes 68,061 residents with Asian heritage and 64,118 locals with Hispanic ancestry. More than half of the city's population is composed of people whose native language is not English. Because of the city's ethnic diversity, the city hosts several cultural festivals. The city of Garden Grove is also home to a lot of Vietnamese families, who came to the area in the 1940s.

The Stanley Ranch Museum Historical Village used to be a farm house during the mid-20th century. Two acres of the original land had been donated to the Garden Grove Historical Society in 1970. The main house finished construction in 1892. The museum includes the history of the introduction of the Valencia orange tree to Orange County.

While the main house on the old farm is the focal point of the museum, there are other structures in Garden Grove that are considered historical landmarks, like the city's first post office, which was established in 1877. There's also an old barber shop, the city's No. 1 fire engine, and a studio garage, which was added to the historical village during the 1980s.
