Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for a good mattress sale can be tricky. If you’re looking at brick-and-mortar locations in Escondido, always ask the sales associate when the sale ends and often the sale runs. If you’re looking online, check to see if the mattress company offers promo codes or referral codes for deeper discounts.
Generally, the best time to buy a mattress in Escondido is during one of the four major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Presidents Day.
The Black Friday mattress sale is often one of the best, with most mattress companies offering a few hundred dollars off their mattress plus free pillows or sheets.
We are a little biased but we like the Amerisleep AS3. We were one of the first bed in box companies and we have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and supportive mattress at an affordable price.
A good mattress can only do so much. Finding the best pillow for your neck is just as important. Most people don’t know you should replace your pillow every 2-3 years. Pillows often lose their shape and support faster than a mattress.
If looking for the best pillow, consider investing in a memory foam pillow but look for one that has a ventilated airways or promotes breathability.

Escondido, CA Tidbits
Considered one of the oldest cities in San Diego County, Escondido was incorporated in 1888 and now has almost 143,911 people living in it.
Escondido's first settlers were the Luisenos, a Native American civilization. They lived along the creek that ran through the area. Later on, another Native American tribe came in the picture. They were the Kumeyaays who were immigrants from the Colorado River areas.
During the late 19th century, people from all over the state came to settle in Escondido. This increased the economic and agricultural aspects of the city. Soon enough, oranges, lemons, walnuts, olives, and avocados became major food products in the area as Escondido gradually became a booming city.
The city is located just 30 miles from Downtown San Diego and was named after the Spanish word for "hidden" because it was considered a hidden treasure. The Native Americans who once inhabited the area called it "Mehel-om-pom-pavo".
Because the city was originally part of a land grant from Spain, many of Escondido's earliest settlers were Hispanic. During the 1850 census, this city reported the highest number of Spanish-speaking residents. It was only at the start of the 1880s that other Americans flocked to the city. This period in history is often referred to as the "Southern California Land Boom".
During this time, the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroads established tracks in the town. This led to the community's population increase and economic boom. In 1884, a new land and water company developed the town and, four years later, it was incorporated as "Escondido".
To commemorate the transition of Escondido from a Spanish-owned town to a successful American city, a historic park was established at the southern part of the area. The San Pasqual State Historic Park, which consists of 50 acres of land, honors the men and women who defended liberty on the fields of San Pasqual in 1846. The park's center is a huge rock with the commemoration note engraved on it.
The city of Escondido sits at a prime geographical location where the weather is not too cold or humid, and the coasts always provide beautiful waterfront views. Dixon Lake is a vital part of Escondido's landscape and tourism industry. It's famous among locals and visitors who are looking to fish, ride boats, and camp in the nearby parks.
One of the city's historic structures that still stand to this day in Escondido is the Sikes Adobe Farmhouse, which has been in existence since the 1870s. This is the oldest residential structure in California and in this part of the United States of America. The house has a wooden water tank, an ancient wind vane, and metal parts of an aged tractor.
Escondido is known for preserving its landmarks well; thus, it's no surprise that most of their local attractions still look spotless and new even if they've been around for decades. The Grape Day Park, for example, was built in the 1930s, which makes it the oldest park in the city. It has a swimming pool and a huge grassy area for picnics.
