Frequent Questions

When is Labor Day?

Sometimes called the “unofficial end of summer”, Labor Day is always the first Monday of September. This year, Labor Day falls on September 4th. A recognized federal holiday, Labor Day is observed by post offices, banks, schools, and government buildings. Some businesses also close for the day or close early.

Is Labor Day the best time to buy a mattress?

Because Labor Day results in a long weekend, it has become a great time for businesses to offer deep discounts on their products. It’s the last big holiday before Black Friday and you can usually find deals that are just as good (if not better) without the rush.

How much does a good mattress cost?

The cost of a good mattress will vary and depend significantly on your needs. A memory foam mattress will cost more than a traditional innerspring, while a hybrid will cost more than both. Latex mattresses tend to be the most expensive, so be wary of an inexpensive latex mattress as it’s most likely a synthetic blend.

For a benchmark: expect to spend between $1,000 and $1,500 for a queen-size mattress with a 100-Night Sleep Trial, long warranty (find a mattress with at least a 10-year warranty), and a good reputation.

What is the best mattress of 2024?

Finding the best mattress is tricky! What is comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for another. Some customers prefer a really firm mattress, while others like a soft, contouring feel.

This is why Amerisleep makes five different mattresses designed for different types of sleepers.

In our Firm Collection, we have the Amerisleep AS2 which is great for stomach and back sleepers.

In our Soft Collection, we have the Amerisleep AS3, the Amerisleep AS3 Hybrid, and the Amerisleep AS5. These soft mattresses offer more contouring, making them great for side sleepers.

Right in the middle, we have the Amerisleep AS3. Our most popular mattress, the Amerisleep AS3 is our choice for the best mattress of 2024. It uses three inches of pressure-relieving foam to keep you from tossing and turning, and two inches of the Affinity layer, which uses HIVE® technology to support your spine and lower back. Beneath those layers, it has a sturdy seven-inch core, which lets us provide an industry-leading 20-year warranty.

What is the best memory foam mattress?

The best memory foam mattress will depend on several factors, such as your weight, shape, and firmness preference.

When looking for a quality memory foam mattress, take time to inspect the details such as materials used, ILD (this is how we measure firmness), and density (this is how we measure support).

We like our pressure-relieving Bio-Pur® memory foam because it uses plant-based materials to create a soft, supportive, eco-friendly foam.

It has an ILD of 10 (making it pretty soft) but a density of 4.0 PCF, making it very supportive while still maintaining breathability.
