In this review, we look at each company across more than a dozen attributes. Our only goal is to help you make the best, most informed decision possible about buying a new mattress. We're not going to try and pressure you into buying from us.
We did our best to select categories we know are most important to consumers. We based our evaluation on what independent, third-party research says people care about. For example, consumers rated how important various comfort features were to them. Respondents listed “targeted back support” (81%), “no sinking” (73%), and “stays cool” (60%) as top concerns.
And we tried not to bias the comparison by only choosing criteria that make us look good, either. (But we can’t help it if we look good anyway.)
Don’t just take our word for it, though. You be the judge. As you read through these Amerisleep vs Leesa reviews, ask yourself if we left any major areas out.

Amerisleep & Leesa Mattress Review
We'll start our comparison by looking at the mattresses from each brand.

Leesa sells two mattresses. “The Leesa” mattress provides support entirely from layers of foam, while “The Sapira” is a hybrid combining memory foam and innersprings. We use “The Leesa” in this comparison for two reasons. First, research shows all-foam mattresses get higher customer satisfaction scores by 5 points. Hybrids only receive 75% satisfaction, while memory foam receives 80%. Second, depending on the size of the mattress, The Sapira hybrid can be twice as expensive as The Leesa1. Based on this information, we think The Leesa offers the best value to consumers, and we wanted to use their best offer in this comparison.
We chose the AS2 to represent Amerisleep. We picked it because it’s our most affordable bed with targeted support and pressure relief. And research shows 81% of mattress buyers want this type of support.
In the table below, the AS2 gets a positive score in six out of seven categories (86%). Leesa only gets a two out of seven (29%).
Cooling foam
Warm temperatures can reduce sleep quality2. That’s why both the AS2 and Leesa use cooling foam to prevent overheating.
This is the only category where the AS2 and Leesa tie. The AS2 wins all but one of the other six categories.
Mattress depth
The Amerisleep AS2 is two inches deeper than the Leesa, measuring 12" instead of 10". The extra two
inches of support gives you both increased comfort and durability.

Third-party scientific proof
The AS2 also has two features proven by a third-party to help you sleep better. Leesa has none.
First, the AS2 cover uses a fabric called Celliant®. It has special threads that turn body heat into infrared energy. When your body absorbs this energy, it increases local blood flow. That's why the FDA determined Celliant® promotes increased comfort and more restful sleep3. The increased blood flow helps you recover faster and wake up refreshed.
Second, the AS2 uses Amerisleep's HIVE® layer.
The HIVE® pattern creates five comfort zones using hundreds of foam hexagons. By adjusting the space between them, the AS2 delivers more cushion where you want it and more support where you need it.

Cost
The only category where Leesa had a small edge was price. Their queen mattress costs roughly
$250 less than the AS2, based on current discounts6,7.

The Companies
Now, let us focus on the brands behind the products to compare Leesa and Amerisleep as companies. In the comparison chart below, Amerisleep receives a positive score in all six categories (100%). Leesa only scores one out of six (17%).
Risk-free trial
Both Amerisleep and Leesa get positive marks for offering a 100-night trial. But in the other five categories, Amerisleep outperforms Leesa.
Customer reviews
Unbiased reviews from real customers are the best way to judge a company. And when it comes to customer satisfaction, Amerisleep has a clear advantage.
99% of Amerisleep customers rate us three or more stars7. Only 94% of Leesa customers rate them three or more stars8.
Number of mattress models
Science proves a “one size fits all” approach to mattresses doesn’t deliver the best sleep. People vary in the amount of support they need to experience deep and restorative rest9.
To quote the study, "We find that optimal mattress firmness varies among individuals." Things like body type and sleep position can determine whether you need a bed that's firm, soft, or in between.
So you need to pick the right mattress for you, and Amerisleep offers five options — ranging from soft to firm. Leesa only has two models. That means Amerisleep gives customers two and a half times as many ways to choose the perfect bed.
Product warranty duration
Amerisleep also stands behind its mattresses with a better warranty than Leesa. Amerisleep protects its customers for twice as long by offering 20 years of coverage. Customers are eligible for a full mattress replacement within the first decade. Over the second decade, the warranty provides prorated coverage. Leesa only offers 10 years of full coverage.
Product warranty standards
Mattresses that sag over time lose support and can cause pressure points. This forces your body out of alignment and can result in pain. That’s why consumers should look for a warranty that allows for as little sagging as possible. Amerisleep's warranty has higher standards in this area than Leesa.
Amerisleep’s warranty covers any sagging deeper than 0.75 inches. Leesa's warranty doesn't cover you until sagging reaches a full inch. So you’re better protected from sagging and pressure points with Amerisleep.
Track record & years in business
Amerisleep also has a longer track record of success than Leesa. Amerisleep has been in business for 12 years, beginning in 2006. Leesa was only founded three years ago, in 2015.

Amerisleep & Leesa Review:
Sustainability
Many consumers prefer to support businesses that make it their mission to protect the environment and produce eco-friendly products. So the final comparison we will make between Amerisleep and Leesa regards sustainability.
In the table below, Amerisleep earns a positive score in a perfect three out of three categories (100%). Leesa only hits one out of three (33%).
CertiPUR-US® certification
Both Amerisleep and Leesa receive positive marks for having a CertiPUR-US® certification. However, Amerisleep outperforms Leesa in the two remaining categories.

Plant-based foam
Amerisleep uses foam made partially from plant-based materials. That's more sustainable than other mattresses, which use 100% petroleum (crude oil). Leesa does not mention using materials made partially from plants in the documentation we reviewed for this comparison.

Clean and eco-friendly manufacturing
Amerisleep uses eco-friendly manufacturing that minimizes VOCs, or volatile organic compounds. This process reduces the chance of our foams emitting the “off-gassing” smell associated with memory foam products. Amerisleep also replaces some of the petroleum in its memory foam with castor oil, a plant-based, eco-friendly alternative.

Conclusion
In this 16-point comparison, Amerisleep beats or ties Leesa in every category but one.
Amerisleep gets a total score of 15/16 (94%). Leesa only scores 4/16 (25%).

But is it worth saving at most a few hundred dollars to sleep on a mattress — every night — that is nearly 70 points worse, based on our comparison?
When you consider all the other advantages of an Amerisleep mattress, we hope you agree the answer is “no.” Based on this comparison, which we tried to make as fair as possible, Amerisleep outperforms Leesa.
But there’s one other comparison we haven’t talked about yet — and it’s the worst option of all…
Doing nothing.
You deserve to get a good night's sleep and wake up refreshed. But that only happens if you have a mattress that gives you the right comfort and support.
If you continue using the wrong mattress, you'll still suffer from poor sleep quality. And you'll keep going through each day tired and foggy — no matter how much coffee you drink.
Don't settle for low-quality sleep and a life of constant drowsiness. You owe it to yourself to have a mattress that lets you sleep your best — whether it's from Amerisleep or someone else.
And if you are interested in an Amerisleep, we invite you see which of our five mattresses is right for you now.

Hologenix, LLC, the maker of Celliant®, states that Celliant® safely converts body heat to infrared energy. This energy penetrates into the muscle and tissue to promote a temporary increase in local blood flow and helps increase comfort and promotes restful sleep.
