We are particularly proud of Bio-Pur® foam and its innovative design. The main drawback of traditional memory foam is its tendency to hold onto body heat, but the advanced open-cell construction of Bio-Pur® foam ensures that absorbed heat is quickly released by the foam.

Bio-Pur® is also incredibly responsive, adapting within seconds to movements so sleepers never feel trapped in the mattress. Lastly, the material is partly plant-based, made with a mixture of traditional memory foam ingredients and plant-derived oils.

Next in the AS3 is Affinity foam with HIVE® technology. HIVE® technology separates the Affinity foam surface into five sections through implemented hexagonal cutouts. The bed feels softer in the shoulders and hips thanks to these cutouts, establishing more pressure-relieving cushion for sensitive areas.

Last is Bio-Core® foam, a durable material that increases the mattress’s structural integrity. In other words, Bio-Core® foam is the primary reason the mattress stands strong and resilient with minimal sagging after years of use.

We also offer the AS3 Hybrid, a bouncy bed with a base of pocketed coils instead of sturdy Bio-Core® foam.

Most of our queen mattresses rely on memory foam for comfort, save for the Organica mattress. This model is our only latex option, and we pair the conforming feel of natural latex with organic cotton and organic wool for eco-friendly comfort.

The Organica mattress contains four layers:

• 1 inch of New Zealand Joma Wool®
• 3 inches of natural Talalay latex foam
• 8 inches of pocketed coils
• 1 inch of natural Dunlop latex foam

Surrounding these layers is a plush, ventilated cotton fabric cover. The cotton is sustainably harvested and woven to promote airflow, ensuring sleepers rest on a cool, dry surface.

The wool layer’s primary purpose is to serve as a fire barrier, establishing the Organica as a fiberglass-free mattress. However, it also increases the bed’s conforming cushion and wicks away heat and moisture.

The Talalay latex acts as the main comfort layer, contouring to the body’s curves for pressure relief. Some sleepers find the feel more springy than memory foam, enjoying how it buoys their bodies.

The support core is pocketed coils on a Dunlop latex foam base. This combination provides responsive, stable support, with the coils adapting to movements and standing strong thanks to the structural base foam. Every coil inside the Organica is wrapped to isolate movement, and the coils along the sides are thicker to establish edge support.

• The cotton cover has been certified as organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
• The wool fire barrier is certified safe under the Standard 100 test by Oeko-Tex®

Differences Between Olympic Queen and Queen Size Mattresses

An Olympic queen size mattress is more suitable for a couple than a queen size mattress, but you have to consider the available space in your bedroom. It’s beneficial to leave at least two to three feet of space on three sides of the bed (except the one against the wall), for a clutter-free environment. A crowded room may cause stress, disrupting your sleep.

Other Queen Sizes

Olympic queen isn’t the only variation on the traditional queen size mattress. Other variations include the California queen mattress and the short queen mattress.

The California queen mattress, like a California king size mattress, is 4 inches longer than a traditional queen bed. Though unlike the Cal king size, a California queen mattress isn’t any narrower than a regular queen bed.

Conversely, a short queen mattress is 5 inches shorter than a queen bed. Typically, this allows it to serve as a lightweight and compact RV mattress.

Other Standard Sizes with a Variable Counterpart

A few inches can make a big difference to your comfort while sleeping, which is why all standard sizes come in two slightly varying dimensions. You can choose any of them depending on your sleeping style, and available space in the room. Unlike the Olympic queen size, most of these sizes are easily available in mattress stores, or online.

Twin vs. Twin XL

There’s a difference of 5 inches in these two standard sizes, but one is used as a children’s bed and the other may be used by adults as well. Twin XL sizes are usually slightly more expensive than the twin sizes.

Full vs. Full XL

Full XL beds are five inches longer than a full, making them a good option for tall sleepers. However, the full XL size is not very commonly available, so it can be difficult to find compatible bedding accessories.

King vs. California King (Cal. King)

The king or Eastern king is the widest of all standard sizes, while the California king is the longest among all standard sized beds. The California king is 4 inches longer and 4 inches narrower than a king.

What size sheets should I use with an Olympic queen?

We recommend asking the customer service representatives of Olympic queen size mattress manufacturers if they have size compatible bedding accessories. Most likely they will, but if they don’t, you can use King size bedding accessories. The length is the same, but width-wise Olympic Queens are 10 inches narrower than the king. The fitted sheets may be a little saggy, so you can use sheet straps or suspenders underneath the mattress to secure the sheets tightly, preventing bunching.

What’s the difference between a double size mattress and a queen size mattress?

A full size mattress is also known as a double-size mattress. It is 6 inches narrower and 5 inches shorter than a queen size mattress. A queen size mattress may be used by couples sometimes, but full mattresses usually cannot accommodate two adult sleepers.

What are the different size variations of a queen-size bed?

The standard queen size measures 60 inches by 80 inches and is the most popular and commonly available size. There are two other variations to the standard queen size. They are the Olympic queen size measuring 66 inches by 80 inches, and the California queen size measuring 60 inches by 84 inches. While the Olympic queen is 6 inches wider than the standard queen, the California queen is 4 inches longer than the standard queen size mattress.
